The Centre faces due south in an obstruction free, rural environment, and is therefore ideally situated to maximise the full energy potential of the sun. Two independent solar systems have been installed.
|
Heating of the swimming pool water
The system is fully automatic, and is designed to maintain a summer water temperature of approximately 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). Supplementary heating is available via an oil fired boiler if necessary during spring or autumn months. |
Heating of domestic water This system is also fully automatic, and takes the place of the conventional supply of cold replacement water to the purpose made cylinder, by water indirectly heated by solar panels. The temperature of all domestic hot water is boosted according to demand by an oil fired boiler. |
